About Merve Findikoglu
Founder & Lead Psychologist
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist
Hello, I am Merve Findikoglu.
I was born in 1985 and completed my education in Istanbul. I initially graduated with a degree in Labour Economics and Industrial Relations from Uludağ University, where my academic work focused on topics such as work psychology, psychological attitudes of employees and employers, and child labour.
Following this, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Istanbul Bilgi University with honours. During my studies, I gained clinical experience through placements at French Lape Hospital for Mental and Neurological Disorders and provided consultancy support to various nursery schools. During this period, I also worked with families preparing to become foster carers, offering guidance and psychological support. Alongside my professional practice, I have founded and led guidance and counselling units in various early childhood education settings, providing psychological support to children, families and educational staff.
I later completed my postgraduate training in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at King’s College London, where I obtained the title of Child and Adolescent Psychologist. My master’s dissertation was conducted under the supervision of Professor Edmund Sonuga-Barke and focused on the impact of parenting styles on attention deficit and hyperactivity symptoms in preschool children. This research included cross-cultural observations and analysis involving children from the UK and Hong Kong.
During my time in the UK, I gained clinical experience within the King’s College London Moudsley Hospital Mental Health Services, working with children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and childhood depression. In addition, I participated in clinical assessments within child and adolescent outpatient services at Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University Hospital and Acibadem Hospital in Turkey.
I currently divide my professional life between the UK and Turkey and continue to work with children, adolescents and families across different cultural contexts.
